Author Hanne Gjerde (born 1972) works as a lawyer at the Norwegian Ministry of Children and Families. In her writing, she often explores the relationship between humans and machines. Hanne Gjerde won the Book Devourer Prize in 2024 for her novel The Eternity Game, an award in which around 120,000 primary and lower secondary school students take part in reading and voting for the best book of the year.

In 2025, she was once again nominated for the Book Devourer Prize with Mr. AI, which is one of the super-finalists in the 2026 edition of the award.
