The fall of the angel
A book in the Håkon Haakonsen series

Vibeke Olden has never been afraid of the dark. Not until now.**
It was half a year ago when the strange things began to happen. The silent calls from unknown numbers. The car, which always seems to have something wrong with it. The perfume that just disappeared. Vibeke fears she is becoming as crazy as her mother. Or is there really something threatening her?

Seventeen-year-old Angela from Sandefjord is alone in the world.**
She lives as a stripper and prostitute, but she is slowly beginning to rise above it. Then, one day, she disappears.

Police Chief Håkon Haakonsen receives the report that Angela is missing.**
He takes it seriously from the very start. In the search for Angela and what has happened to her, he will be confronted with an inhumanity he never thought possible.

Myriam Bjerkli has quickly established herself as a refined suspense writer. Engelens fall is a psychological crime novel where everyone has something to hide. The cunning web of red herrings and clues gradually tightens, and, as usual, Myriam saves a surprise for the very end.

Author Jørn Lier Horst

Unni Lindell, Anne Holt, and the rest of the female crime elite; you’ve been joined by a distinguished newcomer from Vestfold named Myriam H. Bjerkli. This is crime at its best!

This is by far the best of Bjerkli's books so far. It’s incredibly well-written, well-structured, clear, and features short chapters. This is an exciting and great book, definitely among the best in this genre, that is, suspense literature at its finest! Without a doubt, rating: 6."

Myriam H. Bjerkli impresses again. Well-written, exciting, and with great characters!

It's rare that I read a book that moves as quickly as this. The pages have flown by at a rapid pace, and I've been entertained and kept on the edge of my seat throughout almost the entire book. It’s painful and heartbreaking. A thrilling and well-written crime novel that I recommend to everyone.
