Spanning over 4000 years of China’s history, the author provides us with a fascinating introduction to the country’s dynasties, myths and art – as well as giving us a closer look at the stories and fates of a few individuals. We meet pioneers and adventurers, peasants and emperors, and are brought up to date with Mao’s rise to power in 1949 and the modern era. With insight and warmth, Torbjørn Færøvik brings China’s history to life.
