Luisa and Owl are very different: Luisa is a girl, and Owl is an owl. They are always together. And when Luisa plays the violin, Owl flies around her dancing happily.
But when Luisa hears the others whisper that an owl and a girl couldn't be friends, she gets sad. So she sets off to find someone who is right for her.
Along the way, she meets both more and less strange creatures, and she feels that she is lonely. But maybe she is not completely alone?
A heartwarming story about a slightly unusual friendship.
There is a distinct quality about this book.
Lisbeth Dreyer masters the difficult art of writing short.
A little poetic wingbeat of a book. Beautiful and fascinating.
One of the qualities of this book is its rich and pointed illustrations. The interplay between text and images is particularly successful in the entries describing the couples Luisa meets on her journey.
The airy composition of the book with large, open images, little text and clear pauses, provides plenty of room for small and large conversations about different aspects of being in love with someone – and about far more than best friends.
The images in this book are characterized by both a concise, narrative style and beautiful depictions.
A book about friendship, but mostly a story about finding your own path in life without caring what others say.
