Coastal Birds

A book for all bird enthusiasts.

A magnificent work with illustrations with an artistic touch – and a beautiful text filled with professional weight and personal experiences. Precise descriptions of the characteristics of the bird species, of habitats and ways of life, and of distribution maps for the Nordic countries.

Axel tells vividly about the lives of coastal birds, about migration, nesting, the hunt for food, distribution, characteristics and the birds’ connection to our coastal culture, while at the same time weaving in his own experiences as a birdwatcher and illustrator.

Coastal Birds invites the reader into the fascinating world of birds. The book deals with more than 70 species with distribution in Norway and the Nordic countries. The coastal birds are described based on their appearance, their way of life and their peculiarities.

The illustrations capture the characteristics of the birds with great accuracy and artistic flair.
