Mette Hellenes (b. 1964) published her fifth Kebbelife-book in 2015. She documents the life of Mette and Vanessa, two artists living in Oslo, and her wry and comical look on artists life and struggles has earned her a dedicated following.
""One of Norway's funniest comics". To quote the press-release. As for once it is absolutely right. ... Highly Recommended" Martin Bjørnersen, Natt og Dag
«I'm just so incredibly glad that we have something like Kebbelife here in this country (...) It's important to get a bit dirty. The clean of you out there has something to learn."Kristopher Schau, Ordfront NRK P2
"This comic book brings us up to date in the impossible art life, shows us the Artists' House at its cruelest and depicts the life at its most ruffled and mildly melancholy. Dear Mette and Vanessa: More! Please! »
Rune Johan Andersson, Numer
"Norway's most important series ... There is something about the frenetic energy of Hellenes' depictions of human deprivation ... which is reminiscent of Strindberg when he is at his most precariously formulated."
Aksel Kielland, Vinduet
«Perhaps Norway's best satirical cartoon"
Bernt Erik Pedersen, Dagsavisen
"The mind leaps quickly to Samuel Beckett and another absurd team, Vladimir and Estragon"
