The Lemonade

Nasir and his mother move to Norway from Syria. Nasir wants to have friends at school, but he often feels awkward and different. This is partly due to his mother’s lack of knowledge about Norwegian culture and everyday life. The central topic of the book is how difficult it can be for an immigrant child to grow up in two cultures simultaneously. But the book also deals with the loyalty and the love between a mother and a son and about a child’s relationship with his friends — which makes it relevant for everybody, regardless of ethnic and cultural connections.
