Long Litt Woon (b. 1958) was born in Malaysia and came to Norway as an exchange student in the 1970s. She is a trained social anthropologist and has worked with migration throughout her career. Her debut book, Stien tilbake til livet. Om sopp og sorg (The Way Back to Life: On Mushrooms and Grief), became an international bestseller translated into 17 languages. Long is her surname.
