Crossing Over

Crossing Over (Doaresbealde doali) is the second book in this series of youth novels by Máret Ánne Sara. The first book: In Between Worlds, 2016.

It tells the story of sisters Sánne and Lemme, who have fallen into an otherworldly state. There, in the shapes of reindeer, they struggle to understand how they ended up in this strange realm and search for a way back alive. Gradually, they realize that there is grave trouble in the world of the ulddat—trouble caused by the deeds of humans.

This book invites you to follow their journey back into the human world… which has its own challenges and dangers.

“Listen, Ruzhon. The fact is that you are one of the last people who saw my daughter before she disappeared.”
“DEEEEEEMONS!”
Ruzhon hollered so suddenly that Juho almost fell off the edge of the bed.
“DEEMONS ARE COMMMING!”
Juho didn’t know whether he should push the button so that the nurses would come, or try to calm Ruzhon down himself now that he had at last opened his mouth.
“DARK POWERS COMING THROUGH JOANSU KILLING DON’T LET THEM!”
Dark powers? Joansu? How
does he know my name? The man was now rocking back and forth so much that he was hitting the back of the chair with his shoulders. The man started crying. Winding the bands around his neck and pulling them tight.
“Listen, Ruzhon, I’m Juho Joansu. Tell me!”
