Caim is the only dark elf left in the world. Together with his new friend Mariie, he is desperately searching for the Joker Nation—the only place where he can live in peace.

On their journey, they end up in the Heart Nation, a place where girls are raised to be wives and mothers and are forbidden from holding positions of responsibility such as politician or doctor. The inhabitants of Heart worship the merciless god Ess, a deity who can punish people by killing them. In Heart there is also a library with an illegal, locked archive. What forbidden things are hidden there?

Manga creator Helen Kaldheim (b. 1995) grew up in Odda but now lives in Oslo. Today, she makes her living as a lecturer, cosplayer, and manga artist. In the autumn of 2023, she had the honor of being the festival artist at the Literature Symposium in Odda, no small achievement for someone who has been open about her struggles with reading and writing difficulties.
