Join us on a journey almost 1000 years back in time, to when the stave churches were built! Together with the green dragon, you can find many secrets under the floor, on the roof, in the walls and in the ground!

What exactly is a stave church? How is it built? Are stave churches the same? How could they last so long without rotting? What happened to all the other stave churches? You will find answers to these and many other questions in the book.

The book provides a general introduction to what a stave church is, how it is built and how stave churches are rooted in our culture. Stave churches represent a particularly valuable part of Norwegian architectural heritage. The thousand-year-old wooden building tradition is also an example of the finest craftsmanship we have in the country, and it is therefore important that children understand what a stave church is, and why we have these unique churches here in Norway.

In the book, facts and information are explained in an easy-to-understand way and adapted for children through extensive use of explanatory and fun drawings. The dragon is the children's friend in the book. He is on every single page, and makes reading the book a fun experience.

The book is aimed at children from 8 years of age. The level of complexity and detail increases throughout the book, so that the last chapters are most suitable for children from 10 years of age. The book can also provide adults with easy-to-read access to the subject.

With The Little Stave Church Book, Skald has made an important Norwegian cultural heritage accessible to children.
