Born in Kobe, Japan. Grew up in Japan and Norway. Masters in Theatre Studies. Lives in Tokyo with husband and children, where she currently is working on a series of Ibsen and Vesaas translations, and teaches at Tokai and Osaka Universities. Member of «Ibsen in Translation». Was awarded the Norwegian Royal Order of Merit for her work as translator in 2022.
