I am a translator living in Northern Finland, the municipality of Inari. I have translated literature - both belles-lettres and informative literature - into Finnish and into English for almost 40 years. For the past 20 years I have focused on Sámi literature. The authors I have translated include Lars Monsen, Geir Lippestad, Nils-Aslak Valkeapää, Rauni Magga Lukkari, Susan Griffin, Aritha van Herk, Birgitta Boucht, Rose-Marie Huuva and Synnøve Persen. I have edited, translated and published the first Finnish-language anthology of Sámi poetry in Finland. Since 2015, I have also run a publishing house called Kieletär Inari, and it now publishes more Sámi literature in Finnish than any other publishing house in Finland.
