Luca Taglianetti is a philologist and translator of Nordic literature. Since 2012 he has been an honorary member of the Asbjørnsenselskapet for the merits accomplished. He edited the first full translations of Norske huldreeventyr og folkesagn by Asbjørnsen and Norske folkesagn by Andreas Faye. He has also translated a Norwegian ballad of medieval origin and a selection of Faroese fairy tales. He participated as a speaker in the last three editions of the Italian Conference on Scandinavian Studies (2013-2017-2023) and held a series of seminars on Nordic literature at the universities of Rome, Milan and Naples. In recent years he has been working on late nineteenth-century Scandinavian literature, translating a series of unpublished works in Italy of Hans Jæger, Hjalmar Söderberg and Ola Hansson. He also published a poetic anthology by Nobel Prize winner Knut Hamsun and his novel Victoria.
