Police chief Ole Vik travels to Drammen to assist detective Cecilie Hopen, who has been asked to identify the body of her partner Bernhard. Found in the river, his belongings by the waterfront, the police suspect Bernhard of having committed suicide. The plot takes a new turn when the body turns out to be someone else.
