There isn’t much that makes life worth living for the main character in It was Green. Afraid, sad and angry he has withdrawn from the world and spends his time working as a dentist, watching tennis and paying for sex. One day his eleven year old son Steffen arrives on his doorstep, hoping to get to know him. His mother has recently died after a long illness. It marks a turning point in the life of the misanthropic dentist that leads him back to his childhood, to family secrets, to other people, and to himself.
It was Green is a dark, delightful and funny tale of isolation, family and love.
