Dunderly is a safe place for all kinds of monsters. One day, a strange monster arrives ...
Modika, Buster, Moi, and many other monsters live in Dunderly. Far away from people and high up in the mountains, they can play and roar and be as monstrously themselves as they want. With no one telling them what they must do.
One day, a package arrives in Dunderly with a brand‑new monster inside – Bulder. He swings from the chandelier and climbs the bookshelf. But instead of being scolded and sent to his room, he gets cheers and monster mash.
Bulder and Modika become best friends from the very first moment. They both have hearts that thunder, and they love big, glorious danger‑things.
But then another new monster arrives, behaving very suspiciously.
And soon things turn scary in a way Bulder does not like.
Richly illustrated by Endre Skandfer
For ages 4–9
Kids can meet the The Dunderly monsters also in two series of picture books. They have also made it to the big screen in animated, award winning shortfilm, "Dunder" (2016), viewed more than a million times at NRK in Norway.
“Endre Lund Eriksen has created a wildly funny thriller for the very youngest, with monsters in the leading roles – just scary enough that children will beg their parents for more when the chapters are finished, and just funny enough that they’ll still go to bed with a smile.”
Stein Østbø, VG
“Lund Eriksen understands outsiders, and therefore also monsters, and he has more than enough imagination to fill an entire universe. (...) "And his partner Endre Skandfer draws monsters the way children like to see monsters: big, strange, and outrageous, but above all sweet and safe.”
“Maybe there’s a monster living inside all of us? Or at least a little bit of monster? I think so. Run and buy it!”
Linda Kaspersen, Nordlys
