Kåre and Marimba's Great Invention Hunt

Kåre and Marimba’s Great Invention Hunt is a wild, imaginative picture book about friendship, fantasy play and the joy of creating something from nothing. Kåre and Marimba are best friends, even though their interests are miles apart – but this time they are united by a bold plan: they want to build something completely new, maybe even invent something no one has ever thought of before.

Luckily, their neighbour Mastrojanni has a garden full of scrap and mysterious objects. He might be a great genius – or a failed inventor – but together they decide to build a machine that can make absolutely anything: from Eastern European screaming owls to ice cream with a hundred different flavours. As the contraption grows wilder and more advanced, someone is sneaking around in the bushes. Who could it be, and what do they really want?

With sharp, playful text by Markus Lantto and wonderfully and playful illustrations by Camilla Kuhn, Kåre og Marimba finn ein oppfinnar is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud story that celebrates curiosity, collaboration and creative chaos. Perfect for read-aloud, it invites conversations about creativity, imagination, and empathy.
