Dad is traveling to the wilderness by seaplane. He gathers his children around him and tells them he’s come up with a very good idea: he’s going to drop ten oranges through the plane’s window onto Grandma and Grandpa’s property when he flies over it! He tells the children to look for them until he comes back home.

The children can’t wait to look for the oranges! They watch to try to see where they land when the plane flies over their house – but they don’t see anything falling! They decide to start looking for them anyway. The children look for the oranges for a long time and start to wonder whether Dad is just playing a trick on them.
