Having studied Norwegian and English at the University of Glasgow, I now live on an island off the west coast of Scotland and formerly worked in education before embarking on life as a literary translator. Novels I've translated have twice won the Petrona Prize for Scandinavian Crime Fiction in the UK , twice been shortlisted for LAMBDA Literary Awards in the USA and three times been longlisted for the CWA International Dagger. Some of the novels I've translated, filmed as 'Wisting', were shown in the UK on BBC4 – series four will be broadcast in 2024.
