Towards the Forest
Knausgård on Munch

"Towards the Forest" is designed as a journey from bright and harmonious motifs, through the forest and the chaos of creation, and back to a controllable reality.

Together with Munch Museum curator Kari J. Brandtzæg, Knausgård has systematically scrutinised the Munch Museum's collection in search of works that might allow us to see and experience Edvard Munch's oeuvre in a new light.

"Knausgård[...] the man who craved colour and embraced the world, and who loved painting."

Karl Ove Knausgård

Karl Ove Knausgård (born 1968) made his debut as an author in 1998. His books have been translated into thirty languages and have brought him a unique response and recognition among readers all over the world.
